The Saimaa region in Finland holds the title of European Region of Gastronomy in 2024. It is a tradition for the members of the IGCAT platform to organize an annual meeting in the region awarded the title, and this year, our team was invited to participate as representatives of one of the newest member regions.
During the program, between 9-14 September, we had the opportunity to meet local stakeholders, explore best practices, and learn about the region’s proud achievements. All this knowledge helps us prepare adequately for holding the title in 2027 and for the visit of the jury to Harghita County.
Our county was represented by Ferenc Orbán, editor-in-chief of the magazine Székely Konyha și Kert, and Károly Szabó, director of ADI Harghita (Visit Harghita).
